List of Library 1.7 New Features, Fixes, and Improvements:
- New Library 1.7 Replacement Reports Manager
- Changes were made to make the process of downloading Replacement Reports MUCH SIMPLER and more user-friendly
- Now, your selections will be saved even if you install onto another computer or if you update using our CROSS Install and Update Utility
- New Security Enhancements added into Library 1.7!
- Changes were made for better security in Library 1.7 including:
No printing in VIEW-ONLY mode (to help reduce wasted print supplies (paper, ink, etc.) on computers accessible to students and/or the public
Only Library 1.7 Users with 'Administrator' authority to the database can access the Technical Support Center web links
Only Library 1.7 Users with 'Administrator' authority to the database can access the Internet Update Site web link
Only Library 1.7 Users with 'Administrator' authority to the database can access the Replacement Reports web link
A minumum of 'Edit' authority is required for File/Backup, File/Restore, and File/Rebuild operations
- Improved the Multi-user mode of Library 1.7
- Changed the Library 1.7 Install and Update Utility AND Library 1.7 itself to reconnect Mapped Network Drives when Library 1.7 is launched
This reduces file-access errors which were caused by Windows not refreshing the drive letter mappings.

- Improved the Internet Backup and Restore feature for the Library 1.7 database
- Changes were made to make this new feature more user-friendly

- Improved the Internet CROSS Library 1.7 Install and Update Utility
- Changes were made to enhance ease-of-use
- New tools were added for use under technical support supervision
- Various fixes were made
- Improved the Java CD (for those with no or slow Internet access)
- Java CDs are now sent without a CUSTOMER INFO floppy disk
- Various fixes were made
- Improved the Rebuild and Compress function
- Changes were made to enhance data reliability
- Rebuild and Compress now automatically uses the Internet rebuild function, if needed, to rebuild a corrupted database on CROSS servers and return a clean file
- If the Internet rebuilder cannot complete the rebuild, it falls back to the original rebuilder
- A special message is given to notify the user if possible data-loss occurred
- Various fixes were made
- (NEW) Internet Backup and Restore feature for the Library 1.7 database
- Provides faster, easier, and safer backup and restore of data between computers
- Lets you backup your church database via Internet and restore it at home and vice-versa
- You can maintain separate backups for each computer and database
- Floppy disks or USB drives may still be used, but are no longer needed for backup
- Provides for more secure off-site backup in case of fire or theft (stored on CROSS servers)
- Automatically retains managed database backups (daily, two-day, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual backups) for superior data protection against many of the most-common accidental data-loss scenarios
- This new Internet Backup feature is designed to provide maximum protection from data loss by using the improved Rebuild and Compress function AFTER the Backup and Restore operations complete and not before as is necessary for backups to diskette, etc.
- Note: This new feature requires Internet access and a valid technical support policy

- New and simple-to-use CROSS Library 1.7 Install and Update Utility handles the following operations via the Internet:
- Install Library 1.7 (Downloads the entire Library 1.7 software and fully installs it online without using a Library 1.7 CD and CUSTOMER INFO disk)
- After original Internet installation, Library 1.7 can be reinstalled offline
- Update Library 1.7 from the Internet (Downloads and installs the latest Library 1.7 release)
- Uninstall Library 1.7 (For use in preparation of the Reinstall option)
- Reinstall Library 1.7 (For repairing corrupted files used by Library 1.7)
- Configure Multi-user Network Paths (For assisting multi-user setups)
- Create CUSTOMER INFO Disk for use with Library 1.7 CD-ROM (For creating a replacement disk)
- Adminstrator rights no longer required for non-administrator user accounts for domain-based and workgroup-based network users
- Logon as Administrator is required in order to update or reinstall
- Improved the database Rebuild and Compress option
- Added a critical new feature to avoid potential data loss!
- Our new Java rebuilder code constructs a new database and maps all of the data into it to avoid lost of data. We urge every present Library 1.7 user to get this critical update ASAP! (see Contact Information).
- Added new alternate formats on the Library 1.7 Replacement Reports site:

- Classification field added between the Author and Media-Type fields
