CROSS Support uses the downloads on this page to upgrade your laptop or desktop system with Lubuntu when CROSS Library has been previously installed directly onto your system without Windows installed or when using Windows 11 in a Dual-Boot configuration (some restrictions apply).
Remote Desktop Assistance–If you have the AnyDesk icon on your desktop, open it at this time. If you have not downloaded it previously, you may do so using this link: AnyDesk.exe here, then click ‘Download Now’, and open it before you call. (Just open it–there is no need to install it when prompted.)
CROSS Library RECOVERY and UPGRADE TOOLS
Please call 1-877-615-7230 (press 2 for support), and we will download and install the necessary updates using this page.
REQUIREMENTS
1. You will need to have a current CROSS Library Subscription in order to download and install the latest version. If your subscription has lapsed, you may order the CROSS Library Subscription (1 Year) at our Secure Online Store
2. You must have a USB 3.0 or better flashdrive 64GB or larger in size. We currently recommend Sandisk, Lexar, or PNY brand flashdrives rated USB 3.0 or higher. (Onn USB 2.0 flashdrives have not performed well in our tests. Please avoid any USB 2.0 flashdrives due to slower performance.)
CROSS Support generally uses this page to update your system as-needed if you have purchased one of our CROSS Library Laptops in the past and need to update as the system has reached End of Support.
CROSS Library RECOVERY AND UPGRADE TOOLS DOWNLOAD
- NOTE: You should ONLY download the files at the link below ONCE using Firefox in your existing Lubuntu laptop (This RECOVERY USB DISK was updated Apr. 13th, 2026 and is updated by CROSS, as necessary. There is no need to download this file again to get updates to it.) It is necessary to call CROSS Support to install this onto your USB:

NOTE: CROSS Support will generally download the above file into your existing CROSS Library Lubuntu Downloads folder before creating your RECOVERY USB. - Call CROSS Systems, Inc. at 1-877-615-7230 (press 2 for support) for installation assistance. We will request your ID and Password to connect to your desktop and then handle the remaining steps to install and configure this version of CROSS Library and to give you a quick tour of how to use it.
AVOID DELAYS: You must have a USB flashdrive 64GB or larger in size. We currently recommend Sandisk, Lexar, or PNY brand flashdrives rated USB 3.0 or higher. (Onn USB 2.0 flashdrives have not performed well in our tests. Please avoid any USB 2.0 flashdrives until further notice.)
- Alternate RECOVERY PARTITION DOWNLOAD (Only download if your system has enough storage to shrink and create a partition 64GB or larger on the system drive).
